Attendees of PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) held at the Music City Sheraton in Nashville Tennessee were honored to hear from William B. Boyd of New Zealand, who is currently serving as the Trustee Chairman of The Rotary Foundation. Since the first donation of $26.50 in 1917, The Rotary Foundation has received contributions totaling more than $1 billion. To date, more than one million individuals have been recognized as Paul Harris Fellows – people who have given $1,000 to the Annual Programs Fund or have had that amount contributed in their name. Such strong support, along with Rotarian involvement worldwide, ensures a secure future for The Rotary Foundation as it continues its vital work for international understanding and world peace.

Mr. Boyd has served as a District Governor, Rotary International (RI) Director, RI Treasurer, RI President, The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Trustee, TRF Trustee Chair-Elect and is currently serving as Chairman of The Rotary Foundation.

His calm and soft words were presented as he sat on a stool and spoke as if he were in a personal conversation with each attendee. His message resonated with the crowd of over three hundred president-elects from six districts and three states. The speech was recorded and will hopefully be available for the Martin Rotary Club to view as a reminder of the incredible work of The Rotary Foundation worldwide.

Hollie Holt presents Rotary Flag
